PACIFIC ELECTRIC BALDWIN DRS-6-6-15 NO.5203
A High Poly model with Large Art.
Mesh and Textures ©2010 by Allen Norton and Tim Muir

!!You must have the 608sc.zip sound pack from Train-Sim.com library!!

Main texture is a 2048x2048 ace file. This can be resized to 1024 if the large file causes issues, but any further reduction will result in an inferior looking product.

Cabview is by Dwight Mitchell, used with permission as stated by him in his readme document found within the folder Common.Cab which goes into ...\Trains\Trainset Folder along with PE5203_DRS-6-6-15.

Unzip to a temporary folder. Move contents to ...\Trains\Trainset Folder. Build a Consist in a Consist Editor.

Trolley Poles are operated using the DOOR COMMANDS. Ctrl+NumPad7 for the rear pole, Ctrl+NumPad9 for the front pole. YOU MUST HAVE THE LATEST STABLE BIN PATCH INSTALLED, AT LEAST VERSION 1.7.051922, I have Patch 1.8.0521 which has been stable as long as I've used it.

A small bit of background:

These units were sometimes run with the steeplecabs, and always before trolley poles were installed, to actuate the crossing signal switches on the trolley wires, throughout the PE system under wire.

The SP diesels were only ever leased by PE, they had to pay fees for their use. Only 5203, 5205, 5210 and 5212 were listed as being leased to PE.

5203 on lease 19th Sep 1951 - 3rd Oct 1951
5205 on lease 11th Apr 1953 - May 1953
5210 on lease 26th Sep 1951 - 2nd Jun 1952
5212 on lease 26th Sep 1951 - 3rd Jun 1952

The short span of use on the PE is due to their weight and size being too much for the track and tight curves on parts of the system. That's why it is rare to find many photos of them in PE paint.

Credits to Allen Norton who generously gave me his original TSM and art files as a base for this model. Main texture built up over drawings supplied by Frank Musick.

Thanks to Jim Bebenroth for his input and support.

Thank You My Friends.
