I haven't run MSTS for a while.......I have a suspicion what the problem might be.

OK, what does the error mean? I tried to view a wip in ORTS v128 and get the error message when I pick the route (any route), in v022 works fine. Where does one start to look for that external file or component? My error matches that in Thread "OR wont run" in that the error shows after the sound (i guess driver loads).

Mike, this problem was fixed ages ago, I think it related to lack of shader 2.0 in some videocards.

I am glad the problem is fixed, however since your post I downloaded the most recent version v128 and get the same errors. Is there a work around for dummies?

Yup, download the new public version on Friday. It includes the fix for this error. Unfortuantely, v128 does not have the fix for this problem,

Hi'ya Michael, the OR development versions are progressively numbered. The fix came in a later numbered version.

Do you know the model of your videocard and roughly how old it is?

Michael,
A thread over at TS.com covers this issue in detail.
http://forums.trains...ws-an-Exception
Quick summary is that v128 had some experimental shader code that older 5xxxx and some 6xxxx versions of nVidia graphics cards did not like. You don't have a 'problem', just unlucky to have a video card that can't digest the v128 code.
Please download the new version of OR, tomorrow. It fixes this problem.
