Milwaukee Road's venerable GE freight motor set E34 sloshes through a dark and dreary morning in 1970 Montana, skirting a lightning strike just over the hill behind. Alas, in the end, the E34 couldn't stand the weather. A lightning strike in late 1973 put an end to her long illustrious career and wrote the last chapter in the long history of the big GE box cabs.

At least the rain let up in the last two scenes, eh? Started raining up in Montana, not so heavy weather but there's some drama...

It let up, but left a thick fog...

As the morning sun burns off the fog, E34AB+E29-A, E36-C, E29-B roll off scene...

Here's Canada Atlantic Plough Number One dealing with a "light dusting" of Ontario snow:

(That's a fairly ancient screenshot -- date on the file is December 2004.)

It was photoshopped a bit: icicles on the plough roof and some swirling snow along the track.

Wow, Jim, that makes me feel damn cold. Did you add all the snow graphics? That's pretty cool, pun not intended but I'll let it pass. John, it may be old, but it still is a fine piece of work. That could be framed and hung on a wall.

A little bit warmer up in Montana, but still wet...

Foggy in Oregon...

Tim, that was done by someone else. I don't have that kind of talent. I think there was a little tutorial written on how to do it. I'll see if I can find it.
