Nice route, with some superb modelling, buildings and textures.
Early evening at the Diesel Service Facility.
Locomotives a mix of MLT and SLI (originals and reskins) plus somewhere some GMO! - Timeframe, well loosely (from source photos at Railpicture.net) in the early 90's (SP Speed Lettering in evidence...so say 1994).
Sky, Marc's from WPFR (best ever for screenshots - WPFR worth it for the environments alone) - changed the track, still grey ballast, but slightly darker ties - not sure where from, but I think it is from SLI - could be from Canton though!

Tony, my thread isn't a comment on cost, but on quality. The cost doesn't detract from what can be seen or how it is modelled. Hence the fact it is in the screenshot forum :drinks:
The route is payware - and from what I have seen of it so far it is, for me, well worth the $34.95. Lets put it this way, it is sufficiently detailed and of good enough visual quality to get me back (for this route) from RailWorks and into running some of the excellent engines and stock I had mothballed for a year or so.
This isn't intended to be a debate about how a payware vendor can justify their costs, but (throwing all original intentions to the wind) in this instance I believe they can.
BTW, does the route look any good :o

I think what anyone needs to do when faced with the question of whether to get a route, (any route, not just this one), be it payware or freeware, is to ask yourself a number of serious questions. First, am I really likely to use it with any regularity or is it just because it is the "latest thing"?
Second, how good is the quality? Is it up to or better than current standards? (Looking at Rod's shots - very good by the way my friend - the quality seems to be there.) Third, if it happens to be payware, (and remember, costs are relative - an HO plastic freight car can cost more than this route and a building kit - one that you still have to assemble - can cost several hundred dollars), "Can I afford it and is the quality of the route worth the cost if I can? (From what I have seen of this route the quality seems to be there and yes, you need to buy the equipment separately, but then you need to do that in physical model railroading to and DW has produced a series of activities using their equipment.) Remember also, this route is essentially just a large yard and so if you aren't interested in yard operations this route may not be for you. If you like mainline running more, than it is probably better to look at the latest Cajon route and if you are really up to a challenge, take this route and the freeware Cajon route and try and combine them. Well, that is my two cents on this. Overall the route looks good but for my personal likes it is not on my growing list of purchases. I see some up coming equipment purchases for routes I use much more often taking precedence.

I agree totally Paul. All my running is (and always has been) of short duration, with switching being my main interest (though I like the sight of a large freight kicking up dust across Cajon :) ). Probably to do with my short attention span, and falling asleep at the keyboard ;)
This route is short, and packed with yards impossible to fill using MSTS (though not so impossible to do a decent job of it with Railworks, but that, as the coachdriver from the Emerald City said, is a horse of a different colour...)
What I really like about this route, as I say above, is that it has got me back to MSTS whilst across your side of the Pond ;)
