Independence Mine
Ore Crusher House and Conveyor No. 1

Victor, Colorado
1909

This was the Ore Crusher House and Rotary Engine and the Conveyor No. 1 that attached the plant to the Upper Complex and to the Lower Complex with Building No. 4 and the Concentrator. This also was associated with a large Water Tank and the Flue and Stack that were connected which are available separately. Another conveyor and tramway ran from the other side of this structure up the hill to the Ore Breaker and the main Shaft complex which are both will be available separately for ease in placement on a grade. This conveyor crossed the Florence and Cripple Creek NG RR main line.

The Independence Straton Mine was one of the largest in the Cripple Creek District and was the site of one of the first lodes to be found by Edward Straton in the first years of the gold boom in that field. This huge mine complex contained a whole series of shafts, Mills, processing faciliteis and Ore Houses and delivered ore to the Midland and also to the Cripple Creek RRs on both standard and Narrow Guage lines. This complex will be details in a series of models to facilitate placeement as it also contined numberous smaller structures and a number of tramway ways and trestles Refer to the overall layout plan for correct placelement.

This series could not have been done without extensive reserach and the help of collegues in the Historical research field of the early mines of Colorado espeicaly including Linda Irene Tingvik with her kind permission, she also shared the historic Sandborn insurance maps that allows the creation of this complex

This model includes night and snow textures. It is medium poly so can be used for both MSTS and Open Rails.

Rights and Restrictions: you may freely use, rework and repaint this model, TSM source files is included. The only restriction is that this model may not be sold or used in commercial pay ware wthout my express permission. You can reach me at the e mail below. It may also be converted to Railworks, Trainz or any other sim format I would appreciate notice and a copy of your finished work.

Installation:
Place the shape and texture files into your route folders and add the ref entry to your ref list. I use the 257 texture setting so that this will correctly display both snow and night textures.
