No Name Mine No. 3
Dark Wood siding and Green Oxide Tar Paper roofing.
Created on Train Sim Modeler using textures developed from historic structures and research
This is a pro-typical gold Mine based on historic examples found in Colorado in the early 1900s. It was developed from research into the gold mining operations in Cripple Creek, Victor and the area around them. It is not an actual mine but can be used as any for any appropriate route and era. This mine would have been operated by steam and compressed air created on site by the power house, the ore angular shaft house is typical of that part of Colorado, the ore would be brought up the lift in that shaft then transpsorted to the mill next to it, via the elevated tramway and then to the ore house for either
dumping or delivery to wagons or railroad cars. An extermal tramway would take the car loads of waste from the ore house to the dump pile. As each line of fill reached the level of the elevated track, a new tramway would be bulit near it and the process repeated.
This model is based on historic photos and careful research carried out by me for many months. Some of the textures were sourced from research by Linda Irene Tingvik with her kind permission, others are from historic Colorado Structures from the period.
This model includes night and snow textures. It is medium poly so can be used for both MSTS and Open Rails.
Rights and Restrictions: you may freely use, rework and repaint this model, TSM source files is included. The only restriction is that this model may not be sold or used in commercial pay ware without my express permission. You can reach me at the e mail below. It may also be converted to Railworks, Trainz or any other sim format I would appreciate notice and a copy of your finished work.
Installation:
Place the shape and texture files into your route folders and add the ref entry to your ref list. I use the 257 texture setting so that this will correctly display both snow and night textures.
Mine cars and external tramways and other relevant mining structure are available in the library.
