Sprinklers were used by street railway companies to help keep dust down on city streets, during particularly dry seasons. Some were used to help in fire control too, and were equipped with water pumps. Replenishment was from fire hydrants, in cooperation with municipal governments as part of the agreements contained in street railway franchises, to maintain the streets the railways operated over. This model is equipped with traction-style slotted-knuckle couplers. It can be used as a freight motor and switcher on small interurban freight trains. But keep in mind, it has only 260 HP!
