MSTS NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY F-1 CLASS 2-8-0 CONSOLIDATION #55 AND TENDER.
TO BE PLACED AS A LOOSE CONSIST IN THE ACTIVITY EDITOR!
Supplemental files for engine #55 to be dropped into NP_F-1_2-8-0_70 Folder.
3D Models and textures ©2010-2011 by Tim Muir
EXTREMELY HIGH POLYGON COUNTS IN EACH SHAPE.

THIS IS NOT AN OPERATING LOCOMOTIVE AND HAS NO CAB VIEW.

Yet another add-on to the NP 70 Folder:

***YOU MUST HAVE "NP_F-1_2-8-0_70" ALREADY INSTALLED IN ORDER FOR THIS ENGINE AND TENDER TO BE COMPLETE***

See original engines' documentation for historical and technical background.

Models created in Abacus Train Sim Modeler using the 53 as a start. These are high in polygon counts: The No.55 engine has 25,861. The parts file, 4,459. Tender, 10,043.

Unzip to a temporary folder. Move contents to ...\Trains\Trainset folder. Build a Consist in a Consist Editor.

It was my original intention to build a static model of an F-1 partially disassembled to be parked as a static model in one of the engine house stalls on my virtual railroad. Because of it's high poly content, it had to be placed as a loose consist in the activity editor. At first it used a wag file, but the animations did not work. Jim Bebenroth made an AI eng file for it so that animations and rod-clank sounds were restored (Thanks again, Jim!). It can be moved around if needed, but also makes an effective scenery object for your shop scenes. The loco and tender have knuckle couplers on both ends to facilitate movements as separate "cars" if desired.

THIS IS NOT AN OPERATING LOCOMOTIVE AND HAS NO CAB VIEW.

Credits and thank yous:

Steve Thompson for supplying the drawings, photos and data.

Allen Norton for allowing me the use of his 3D driving wheel TSM files, and building excellent steam locos in TSM as a catalyst to get me to try my hand at one.

Jon Davis, Barry (Captain Bazza) Munroe, and Bill Pratt for further incentives towards building steam through much study of their models.

Jim Bebenroth for testing, AI eng file and positive input.

There's probably someone else I'm forgetting, please forgive me for it.

Thank you.
