Hi everyone, I recently finished major detailing and modeling on the SP GP40Xs. Would anyone like to see a version with the classic SP 5-light package to go along with these early 90's era models?

Whoa! Those are beautiful, Phil. It seems only yesterday you posted those WIP shots of these in early developmental stages, and here they are struttin' their stuff already. I'm impressed. I think the classic SP light cluster would be appreciated by more than just a few folks. Are you going to upload these?

Eventually they'll be uploaded, but there are still a few details and texturing tweeks to be done.

Flamex, fine detail work there on the 40's. Great bridges in those shots, too, whoever did them.

Does anyone know if there are still any SP GP40Xs around?

Those look great! Going to do any the the "elephant ears" over the radiators?

I'll do some elephant ears when I model the early 80s version with the 5-light package. I'm also going to model the late 80s version without the elephant ears and L window, but still with the 5-light pack.

There are a few patches around roseville I think. At least there were some 7200s running around until they were patched. I do not know too much about the later years of SP motive power though.

I was checking over the GP40X a few days ago, and it seems I made them too tall by an inch or two. It looks like I'm going to have to remap and retexture the units after I fix the error. The cab windows need work too. Jon, it'll probably be a little while before I get started on the SD38-2s. I was using the GP40X as a base for all the other engines, and any work I had started on before the errors were noticed has to be scrapped. :p
