I dunno what Firefox has or hasn't done as I'm a new user... but I will say that when comparing IE (any version) to Firefox I had but a very tiny fraction of the number of times I didn't connect to a web page. Firefox is always tossing a "Oops, this link appears to be broken" at me. Yeah, home page address for CNN and Google... broken links huh? I don't think so.

Well folks it look like the Thumbnails are BACK and everything is working as it should. Here is one of the largest images to date that has been uploaded and it came through without problems and was processed into a thumbnail with no blank sections of the screen.

Invision's help desk found and corrected the problem.

Glad to see my picture in good use! lol

ATM I am running 3.5.6 and it's much more stable and quick than the previous 3.xxxxxxx. It installed the upgrade unasked this morning and I admit I was cynical, but they appeared to have fixed quite a few problems.

Cheers Bazza

I consistently need to login each daily visit, which is quite annoying. Only happens here. Other IPB forums appear to work fine.

mark,
I think I know what's happening. If you have a dynamic IP addressing with your internet access, the forum software assumes you're a new/different user. This happens to me when I travel and the IP address I'm logging in from is totally different than from home (static IP), I must re-enter my user credentials.

Hi Dave,

This is usually a site broken message and its usually not browser dependent, they both use the same network and DNS,

If you get the error with firefox, try with IE and see what you get.

I have been using firefox since day one and not 'many' problems.

Hi Derek,

I had been using IE8 (that's the new version, right?) for some time before I switched over to Firefox. IE was just too slow. I never had any problems with "unable to connect" messages w/ IE, only w/ Firefox.

Seems like there isn't one browser that really "does it all".

I have been a firefox user for many years without experiencing any browser specific problems (which is more than I can say for IE). Maybe there is something about the configuration of your PC that is causing this? (And before you ask, I have no ideas about what it might be!)

Rob.

Hi Dave,

You are missing my point, Its not a firefox or IE problem, its to do with local networking.
You are having problems other that the browser.
You need to check IE and firefox side by side.

Derek
