0548 resulted from a rebuild of No 49, which was a four wheel caboose built in 1881 with “link and pin” couplers, manual brakes, and no stove. 0548 car sits higher than other two truck cabooses because the original four wheel “pedestal beams” were left in place and the new truck bolsters were attached to them instead of the body frame like on the other “rebuilds”. Because it sits higher, it also has “cut out drop steps” instead of the steps used on other D&RGW cabooses.

This model was made by “rebuilding” my previous model of #49 utilizing data from "A Century + Ten of D&RGW Narrow Gauge Freight Cars, 1871 to 1981".

To install, create a new folder under your Trainset Folder and extract the attached Zip files into that folder.

I would like to thank Howard Saunders for initial testing and for tweaking the physics and textures; and Andrew Greene for for the beta testing. The screen shot is by Howard Saunders.

Enjoy
