Caboose 0585 was one of a series of six cabooses built by the Rio Grande during the 1900 and 1901 time period. As built, these cabooses all had peaked roofs, single cupola side windows, short ladders,
and "lamp boxes" on the cupola. In the late 1940's three of the six were rebuilt with two cupola side windows, all had the remaining cupola lamp boxes removed, all received long ladders and, through the years, some had window sun shades added. This model of 0585 is configured as it was in 1938 when it still had short ladders and the cupola lamp box,

The model was made from plans by RE Sloan and shown in his book "A Century + Ten of D&RGW Narrow Gauge Freight Cars, 1871 to 1981" and is detailed to appear the same as 0586 shown on P-117 of the "Narrow Gauge Pictorial, Vol V"

To install, make a new folder under your Trainset folder and copy the nine files to this folder.

This model's initial testing, physics adjustments, and texture tweaking was done by Howard Saunders. Further testing was done by Herb Kelsey, George Dernberger, and Tom Werb, and final Beta testing was done by Tim Muir. I appreciate the effort. by these people. The screen shot is by Tim Muir

Enjoy
