MSTS U.S. 3ft Narrow Gauge Bogie Short Caboose
By Barry R. Munro aka Captain Bazza
Number 0524, DRGW, Version 1.0 5 April 2006
Number 0401, RGS, Version 1.0 5 April 2006

Dedication

To all aficionado of US narrow gauge railroads, because you need all the help you can get.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special notice

"Short Caboose" in this sense means the short narrow gauge bogied/truck caboose and does not refer
to the even shorter bodied, narrow gauge, 4 wheeled caboose.

Both cabooses use an ENG file instead of a WAG file, do not change this.

For technical reasons, ((BazzaMotion(3)) is not discernable in the paxcam view [5].

Only a single 2000m LOD is used.

The main ace texture is 1024x1024 pixels.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conditions of use

The user chooses to download and use the files at his or her own risk.

The copyright for his original work remains with Barry R Munro, 2006.

The files for the two narrow gauge short cabooses are Freeware, but not in the Public Domain.

The Trademarks, RGS Sunrise Herald and DRGW Speed Logo, remain the property of their
respective copyright owners.

Permission is given for reskinning of the cabooses for private use only and must not be
redistributed.

You may not redistribute the reskinned shape and textures without prior permission which
may or may not be granted at the discretion of Barry R Munro.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acknowledgements

My grateful thanks are due to:

Howard Saunders and Herb Kelsey, for providing reference material and enthusiastic support for the
project.

And, to other USNG fanatics, for their kind comments and support.

The guys at Elvas Tower for hosting the files on their server and for providing the site MSTS-ONLINE and
the file library.

Stephen Thompson, for his Clickety-clackity wagon/rail soundset, which adds so much foreground ambience
to the railway/railroad scene.

Cabooses

DRGW short caboose, weathered, #0524, as at circa 1947.

RGS short caboose, weathered, #0401, as at circa 1947.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Features

High poly detail, approx 8,150.
((BazzaMotion(3)) now includes coupler drawbar movement.
Clickety-Clack wagon / rail sounds.
Animated red marker flags.
Both cabooses feature 'weathered' textures.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What's not there

Version 1.0 of cabooses 0524/0401 does not include a special paxcam view inside the caboose. The current
view is from the rear vestibule, or porch, slightly out from the caboose side for better visibility. Meantime there
are a couple of other US NG cabooses with suitable paxcam views that could be utilised if the user has them.

An internal paxcam view shape is planned, suitable for 0524/0401, and its release will be announced
on http://www.train-sim.com and http://www.elvastower.com/forums/index.php??.

No lights, the light's data section is set at zero. You may add tail marker lights if you wish,
but there are no lamps attached.

No smoke from the caboose chimney, although this should be possible by editing the ENG file.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Addendum

Should you be given permission to distribute reskinned versions of the above caboose shapes
I retain the right to authorise and direct the file names to used, this condition is
paramount.

The release version of 0524 has been independently beta tested. 0401 has only been tested on
my machine, but not on a narrow gauge route, this is due to problems with my MSTS installation.
