Hello again.

Well, I have started with this and I find myself with a doubt. I have some switches to open and close windows by clicking directly with the mouse. In some cases they are switches and in others, they are the handles of the windows themselves. With the old system they worked, but now I wonder how I could do it.

Would it be possible with a part (for example for the right window) named RIGHTWINDOWFRONT:0:1 associated instead of MAIN to RIGHTWINDOWFRONT:0:0?

Or is there a part intended as a switch and containing also sound triggers numbers? In the previous situation it was possible to associate a sound to the movement of the windows?

Thanks again!

At the moment you can move the windows only by keystrokes, but I can add also controls that may be activated with the mouse.
At the moment two sound events are foreseen, that is #260 (WindowClosing) and #261 (WindowOpening). Maybe I'll add another couple of events in order to separate events for the two windows. If you have further needs please ask and I'll see what to do and what not.

Thank you Carlo.

I tried what I said and it doesn't work, but I guess it has to do with the simulator version. I am using Rev. 140.2.

Carlo, perhaps in cabview the windows could be clickable like a cab control?

The window animation feature will be available starting from next ORNYMG version.

Yes, I have the intention to add that.

It would be nice to also have some control over which doors/windows get opened, rather than all-or-nothing. Just putting it out there.

I have now tested Geoff's and Vapor3D models, and by slightly adapting .eng, .cvf, and 3Dcab .s file to adhere to the specs defined in the two posts in this thread, I could have them (and the OR code) working. I owe a big thank you to both. What is still out (also as code) is having window animations for carriages.

Please note that the specs have been partly modified and extended.

I can now proceed to the generation of the new ORNYMG release including this feature.
The feature is foreseen also for the official releases, once it is a bit consolidated and PRs #823 and #825 are reviewed and merged, which requires previous approval of their blueprints. These PRs are a prerequisite for the window animation feature.

The feature is now available in ORNYMG rev. 142.
