It's spring in the early 1950's, a Black 5 is hauling a goods train to Leeds, where the engine is based. We start the episode as it rolls through Carlisle and begins to roll down the line to Settle.

The train rolls through the countryside as it heads south.

The train rolls through New Biggin as it nears Appleby.

At Appleby, the train stops to have a banker push from behind up the hill. After a few minutes, the train gets underway.

The train crests the hill at Ais Gill. The banker returns to Appleby, and the freight continues on it's way.

At Garsdale, the crew sets out a string of vans for points at Hawes and beyond, then they get underway, rolling through Rise Hill and Blea Moor Tunnels.

The train rolls over Ribblehead Viaduct and rolls through Horton in Ribblesdale as it rolls downhill.
