Hello,

AFAIR there are two different installers for .NET framework: one running online, i.e. getting the installation files over the internet at runtime, and the other offline, having all necessary files inside the installer.

I can't see from your log which one you used, but the line "Using Simultaneous Download and Install mechanism" is a strong indication for an online installation. The error message you get also points in that direction, as most results for an internet search on that error point to online web server authentication issues.

The offline installer has the name ndp472-kb4054530-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe and is about 80 MB large. It can be downloaded from here.

Greetings, Peter

Hello Peter.
Used both, the off-line version, as well as the internet version. Both failed with the certificate error. Did this on two Dell M6400 laptops, both had same failure. Coincidence that both failed installs are Dell M6400's? No other devices available to try again.

Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 two and a half years ago.
Maybe the certificates are no longer valid, expired, and there are no new ones because the OS is no longer supported.

That is a good thought. That would explain why both laptops failed. I've no other devices to try again.

For the record, 10 ain't that bad.
I was hesitant at first to upgrade, but I'm glad I did.

I've got Win10 and Win11 on all the other boxes. I was experimenting With Win7 to see it it would do a better job running TSRE. On my Win10 box TSRE performed oddly. When I opened the program (clicking on desktop icon) the program opened, but when I selected the route and click 'load' nothing would happen. The only way to get TSRE to load the route was to start randomly click on the TSRE program. Seems the more I clicked, the sooner the navi window would open and then the route displayed. Had the unused laptops laying around. While TSRE was the original purpose, it turned out the OR which I would use to run the route, would eventually cause the demise of the experiment.

Depending on the route and your computer specs it can take a bit for TSRE to act like it's doing something/anything.
I just updated my hardware because of similar issues, the processor and main board were 10 years old.
Sometimes it could take a while but it always did eventually open. Now it's almost instantaneous.

It's good that you were able to get more life out of your hardware. All my pc's (except the DIY's) are also over ten years old.

RE: TSRE....if I do not do the random clicking, TSRE will not load. I've let it sit for over 25 minutes after clicking the 'load' button.

Aren't computers wonderful ....

Wrt my '2009 w7/32 laptop, TSRE never went further, than navi window — I only could work with TSRE under w10

Have TSRE on two machines, desktop with Win7 and laptop with Win10...runs fine on both.
