"Clippings" of interesting news articles found during researches.

First one, a freak accident showing the strengths of one particular all wooden ore car, February, 1903.

Yeah, Chris, and those were WOODEN cars!!

Now, here's an interesting and wonderfully weird steel car end on a Monon gondola. I've not seen this style before, but it's similar to a Van Dorn circular patterned end. That spiral pattern is quite odd, eh? Would be a real challenge to make a 3D model of it!

Here's a Van Dorn round pattern car end, which would not be as difficult to make. A ten-section tube with an appropriate number of sides for a smooth appearance, and the outside points formed into the car body rectangular shape. Hmmm....we could use some Rock Island cars....more research is needed.. ;)

Hello.
1. Looking like a wonder, as no one hurt.
2. Very funny outcome.
3. Isn't that the same engine type as seen on PRR video?

Hi weter. Yes, that loco is very similar to the PRR 0-6-0 in the video, about the same "vintage".

Very Interesting cars, Tim...Be quite a challenge to make those ends. Don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.

Just some interesting artwork from a 1928 Cuban movie magazine ad ( Cine-Mundial ). Some lovely pen and ink work!
