At Lava Siding, the freight let the westbound San Juan pass. Then, the crew had to de-bar Conx 40, and the car was left at Lava.

As the grade eases...
... it rolls through Rock Tunnel.
At MP 317.5, RG 6209 (with a boiler for Chama) derails due to rough/heaving track, and the load was top heavy. The car is crosswire of track the head up against a bank. Conductor Ashbrook walked to Osier, and reported the derailment, and he thinks they may be able pull flat into the siding, if not take wrecker about 2 hours clear main after thy get to the site. The car in question (built in 1918 and rebuilt in 1937) is 17 cars ahead of caboose. The boiler went off the car when it derailed.

After the 6209 is re-railed and the boiler loaded on the 6306, the freight crew (which had been on release since 1:50 PM the day before) get the train together (the rear was moved to Toltec so that the OP could get to the car) and the freight departs Osier at 5 AM.
The train rolls over Cascade Creek Trestle...
... rolls over the Rio De Los Pinos River...
... and passes the Los Pinos tank.

One mile west of Los Pinos, the train gets stuck in the snow, and the crew decides to double the train into Cumbres.
The train pulls into Cumbres with the front half.
The train heads back to get the rest of the train.
With the rest of the train in tow, the crew heads to Cumbres. The train rounds Tanglefoot Curve...
... and pulls into Cumbres with the rear half at 8 AM.
