C.E. DETWOLD, an 0-8-0 "camel" type appears here trailing a C&P conductors car, an early form of caboose. Basically a boxcar with windows. No cupolas in this period (I think), but some had benches on their roof. Great fun in the rain and snow.

Thought I try to capture the photography of the period I've been modeling. Created a black and white version...

A sepia tone version

And something I recalled while creating these...the cyanotype.

Real cyanotypes had more than just a blue tint though. Hard to describe. Not sure how to recreate the look.

Here's another Philadelphia & Reading shot for ya, Frank, also a cyanotype. From National Parks Service.

Wow.
Great. Thanks, Tim.
This "camelback" is looking more like, what was recreated in Railroad Tycoon II game, and how I imprinted it in my memory.

@ Frank
Rain and snow would be fun greater, as the camel in screenshot haven't been equipped with lights.

I've wondered about that myself. That Winans style stack/spark catcher doesn't lend itself to headlamp installation, probably the reason that many B&O camels had side mounted headlights. Seems there are more than a few images showing these beasts without headlamps.

As long as their role was pulling industrial trains with coal, there might be daytime-only operations...
