It's possible implement an .eng line that makes the dynamic brake effort acting with some delay relate to the dynamic brake handle?
Some similar to the ChangeUpRPMpS, ChangeDownRPMpS, RateOfChangeUpRPMpSS, RateOfChangeDownRPMpSS.
As you can see in the link below, after 5:52, the engineer increase the dynamic brake and the ammeter needle has some delay to show the load effort.

Agreed, it is not realistic that dynamic brakes instantly respond to handle movement. Later in the video when the dynamic brake handle is moved to maximum the dynamic brake current creeps up so slowly it's almost agonizing. Very different to the way the dynamic brakes work in game.
Also, this demonstrates that the dynamic brake handle should NOT be locked in the setup position while set-up occurs. At time 4:17 the engineer was able to move the dynamic brake handle from setup to about notch 2 before set-up was completed, and there was a roughly 3-second delay before any dynamic brake effort occurred at all. After that delay the dynamic brake smoothly adjusted to the set level without the engineer even touching the handle.
