@Chris
It's a shame, but no.
I've just got that idea, watching the final seconds of video, offered by you.
But I almost sure, some other members, who have implemented wipers, could help.

And, continuing the rain theme, why don't we look for demonstration of rainy textures working?
(or is it exclusive Carlo's version feature only for now?)

Hello, is ORTS V1.4 64 bits like MonoGame ?

Hi Christophe,

Sorry, no.

That's top of my list of improvements to help migrate from OR_NewYear_MG into official Open Rails, but it won't make v1.4. Support for 32-bit will continue.

Tiny observation: I cannot find anything in the manual about screenshots, at least not from the index. As <alt> screenshot is once again disabled I have no idea where sreenshots are going and there is no answer in the manual that I can find. Is there still time for the answer to get edited into the manual? Default location and how to change it.

I found this text in the latest manual, which I downloaded from http://openrails.org...ting-Manual.pdf

When you press PrintScreen, Open Rails puts a confirmation message on the screen. If you have unchecked the Control Confirmations checkbox in menu > Options > General, then you won't see any message.

Hope that helps.

Rainy textures are available only on OR NewYear MG at the moment. However if someone generates a Trello card and it gets approved by the OR Management Team, I can prepare a Pull Request for the official OR. I wonder whether someone has already used that feature.

Hello.

Yes, I operate the windows with it. If the weather is nice, the windows are lowered, if it is raining they are pulled up. I also have a couple of locomotives that have wet windshields.
The only problem is that it does not support dynamic weather.

Sincerely, Laci 1959

re: path to screenshots. Thanks for the info. I do think it is still worthwhile for a sentence or two. IIRC there is a section on the OR directory tree for content. Perhaps that could be expanded a bit to identify where all the OR files land

One thing that I won't miss, when the v1.4 Stable release comes out and we no longer support XNA, is the problem that XNA causes anti-virus software.
We get a regular drip-drip of reports like this one:

Error: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\AYUSH\AppData\Local\Temp\tmp5B12.tmp' because it is being used by another process.

The experience we've had is that this is caused by Avast or Windows Defender or similar objecting to these temporary files. The files are created by XNA and, thankfully, MonoGame will not need them.

How about this?

Is there anything more we should include?

Regstry keys by JGR/twpol, maybe?
What is Loading progress bar?
Is it customizable then?
Very good idea.

Add:

Each track viewer (though it's not Open Rails themselves, but a kind of "contributed software") stores user's settings somewhere at user's folders.
So far, every new testing version of ORTS brings track viewer with default settings, then those are need to be re-set again.
