Hi Gerry: Attached is the default trk file I just downloaded. Appears to me that it matches up w/the screenie you sent. hawk

If that is so, then you should not have any log warnings about the trk file....install everything and see what happens. My copy of the Cima, runs fine, no warnings.

I agree that if there is not an issue w/the trk file, there should/would be no error message. However, I just did a second side-by-side comparison of the screenshot and my trk file, and both content & format match. However, when I launch the sim, I continue getting the error message about line 3 in the trk file. This is after a complete new d/l of all Cima files. That said, I'm wondering if there is anything in any of the other spanned files that might be causing this issue. I know that the route itself has been around for a while & has 1400+ d/ls, so I understand that the route is stable and functions well, which makes me wonder if there is something in the d/l procedure that got messed up somehow. Its puzzling in that the Route Editor opens & functions normally. hawk

I've seen the default Cima.trk file...what does the trk file in the OpenRails folder look like...that is the file OR is having trouble reading....if something is incorrect in that file...the route will not load. Of course RouteRiter will function, it is ignoring the OpenRails folder and reading the default trk file...which we know is okay.

Slipperman pointed to this in his post #7 --- the log path string is pointing to the trk file in the OpenRails folder.

I am not sure, but the error could also be related to the folder name of the main directory. Line 3 is normally "Tr_RouteFile (". It is possible that the .trk is not found at all.

D:\0.1 Arizona-California-new\ROUTES\Cima\openrails\Cima.trk

Personally, I would do without spaces and full stops.

Good catch, I missed that one.

So 2 things need to be fixed.

1. remove the full stop and the space from the folder.
2. restructure the folders to remove the upper level "routes" folder.

Should the content of the OR trk file match the content of the default trk file in the route folder? The OR trk file has no content. If the route is pointing to the OR file rather than the default trk file, there is nothing there. hawk

Hi hawk,

Should the content of the OR trk file match the content of the default trk file in the route folder?

No Sir!!
It should have the content exactly as indicated in Gerry's last image.

Cheers,
Ged

Ged is correct...your problem has always been the trk file in the "OpenRails" folder.

From the manual ( sec 8.16 ) >>>

Quote

Take into account that the first line must be blank (before the include line)

Please see screenshot examples below and my last screenshot in my post #9 --- you have no Blank Line before the opening "include" line.

Dropping the first text line down to line 2 corrected the problem! Thanks so much to all for your help w/this. But I do have a question. The OR trk file that was causing this problem was in the content of the Cima file d/l from the TS Library. That being the case, I would have thought that other users would have experienced the same problem, but that does not appear to be the case. So my question is, did I do something that caused the text to drop down 1 line in the file that caused prevented the sim from loading, and if so, what might that have been? I ask this only to try to prevent a future problem w/other downloads. Just curious. Thanks again for the assistance. hawk
