I'm having yet another problem with .inc files. Most of my diesel locos work as well as can be expected until I add an OpenRails folder and put a.eng file with include statements. Frustrating to the point where I have temporarily disabled almost all of the OpenRails folders. Attached is an example .eng file, the corresponding ORTS .eng file, and the ORTS log. Can anyone see anything I'm missing?

Try inserting an empty line at beginning and end of the .inc files.

Good day,

StartDirection ( 0 0 0 )

Thank you both, but neither correction solved the problem. The ORTS log is not showing any errors with .eng, .wag or .sms files. It's very confusing.

Also noticed; there are no brakes and the throttle does not work. Not sure what other controls aren't working.

If it helps, this is a recent problem that has only started happening in the last few days.

Again, log file attached.

It was said in manual, that this way, include files replace entry blocks.
I had similar issues, (loco without brakes, for example; or without controls at all) until wrote full *.eng-file for OR folder.
Look around here: there is another variant with *.inc files-I didn't study that yet. Genma Saotome wrote much about that technology-try to search.

It seems, your include files don't have controls, the path to cvf-file and so on. If so-that's no wonder.

Hey Doug, the only rolling stock errors are :

Your CN 3151 - line 11, was probably that bracket, but once that was fixed it will read farther down the .eng file. Could be another issue popped up.

Your Tempo cars - line 2, has "n/m" in a place that deals with resistance, that needs to be changed.

It can be fickle and maddening trying to troublshoot these files, huh

Mike

Hey Doug, never mind I just seen your new log and it doesn't show those errors now.
You have your cabview in the original cabview folder ?

Again, thank you for that Weter. I have some of Tyler Bundy's locomotives with the entire .eng file written in the OpenRails folder which are also not loading the cab view. I'll do the recommended search and see what I find.

I can't read your *.eng from archive just now, but try to check path to *.cvf-files and brackets mismatch with ConText or NotepadPlus.
Very likely, one of brackets is missing, or excessive. If so, it will cut-out all of rest part of file.

Hey Doug, I'm sure its in the order of how things are arranged. Once it hits an error, it wont go any further.

Absolutely Ram. I've started rearranging things in the ORTS .eng file and everything now works. It seems position of statements makes a difference. In the ORTS file, the include statements work if they are in the same order as the (MSTS?) .eng file statements, from my experience.
