I have recently noticed that the OR log reports virtual axle boxes being added to some stock items. This is not usually a problem until you make a save and try and resume. Sometimes it causes OR to crash.Attached File  OpenRailsLog.txt (28.61K)
Number of downloads: 215

Here is the log after a save.Attached File  OpenRailsLog.txt (17.33K)
Number of downloads: 218

Has anyone else come across this or found a solution?

Hi Mick, Do you mean the "virtual wheel axle added" line? I think OR has always shown that in the log whenever it encounters a swb 2 axle wagon as it's expecting a double bogie car.. I certainly get that message whenever I run a UK route like South East Steam, BUT it's never caused my game to crash. Are you sure it's that which is causing the problem?

Nick.

There's a whole detailed thread on that log warning somewhere around here, did a quick look for it, couldn't locate it. NikNak got it...nothing to worry about, no incidents of crashing from it, so perhaps you have another problem that is causing the crash.

Its only when I save an activity or explore run and try to resume later on. OR crashes as per the second OR log.

Mick, it might take an OR developer to interpret the log, I'm guessing here...but it looks like it might have something to do with a path, illegal characters...and perhaps a generic wagon...I've never seen that one before. Gerry

Hi Mick,
It seems a little odd that the "invalid character" message doesn't appear in your first log! It might be that the OR save routine is actually causing it. However, if you're not using any .eng/.wag files in the OpenRails folders, may I suggest that you run the activity through MSTS_ActMan. This should report any genuine "invalid characters" in stock or consists files.

Cheers,
Ged
