These do have sense. Agree.

They all are looking, as they belong to some of existing tabs...
While those tabs are quite empty now - a lot of rooms for..

But there can be new experimental options in future.

I do hope there will be lots of experimental options in the future, but I don't expect they will be a problem.

The "experimental tab" came into existence before the scheme which gives us separate Stable, Testing and Unstable Versions, so it was a useful place to propose a new feature.

Now that we have the Unstable Version scheme, new "experimental options" can go directly into the appropriate tab. A new option will be available then only to users who take the Unstable Version and will not be inflicted on an unsuspecting public until the community is comfortable with it.

You said: "useful place to propose"
Did that mean: good way to attract attention, and also to state, that given option is still at "testing" state?

Yes "to state that given option is still at "testing" state".

"Attract attention" - not so much as the user might discover that a new control had arrived on the Experimental Tab or more likely not notice.

You may remember that we have discussed a more obvious way to notify users of changes in this thread. I still think this is a proposal we should adopt.

As far as I guess, You probably have meant popping-up notifications while the main window is active and Internet connection is available?

I just found out that the "enable webserver" info button in the "ORNYMG only" tab is not active and therefore does not redirect to the corresponding wiki page.

Neither does the folloing info buttons:

"Language" and "Show control confirmation" in the "System" tab

and that's it!

Hi all,
I implemented the "Electric - power connected" menu option, which allows electric locomotives to start the simulation with power already available, without the need to connect the battery switch, close master key, wait for enough main res pressure, raise the pantograph and close circuit breaker. It should be available in next Unstable release.

That's useful! What do you suggest as default? Option on or option off?

Traditionally electric locomotives in OR were unpowered at startup, so this was what I set as default. On the other hand, both diesel and steam engines behave in the opposite way by default, so any of the options is OK for me.

IMO, there are opposite preferences of different-kind of users; and even of the same user in different situations/moods:
Starting without power on is prototypic in some cases, but too long in some other cases (when one doesn't want to do any preparations, but expect to roll immediately)
Same for activity different conditions.

Trying the Brescia-Edolo route, I see many it's *.dds textures are not shown, as like 1.5.1 still waits for *.ace textures, but they are sertainly absent.
Another report was seen yesterday - about craziness with trainsimulations routes acleantrack textures.
But checkbox for pointing, which textures to use is now removed from menu.

The logic of textures handling looks odd for me anyway, but since we have such "complications" what's the reason to remove a checkbox, which helped at least partially?
I even don't ask, why not to sort-out program's logic for optimizing textures handling.

But seeing whole mountains painted gray, while their *.dds textures are present, where they should be, but not displayed is awful.
