Not posted for a while but was replying to a thread over at Railworks America and thought I might repeat here. Main reason is the beauty of Bossman Games models. Superb modelling and incredible driving detail (if you want to drive and fire at the same time!) - anyway, to move on...

All of the following relates to the UK - a very different Southern Railway

A few photos, with a bit of scene setting...The route is the excellent Glorious Devon 1958 GW/SR Expansion available here

https://www.dpsimula...k/gd1958sr.html

Currently undergoing a massive expansion and detailed rebuild (should be released relatively soon but the original is well worth getting) - thread here

https://railworks.fr...-route-progress

The engine is one of BMG's recent releases - the Merchant Navy Class of streamlined engines - ex Southern Railway - available here

All photos taken at Exeter Central and Exeter St Davids - so Southern Railway/Southern Region Exeter Central station, crossing the Great Western/Western Region lines into Exeter St Davids. The train is the Atlantic Coast Express all the way from Waterloo station in London - shortly to be broken up into separate portions for various destinations along the Southern routes.

Engine is the Elder Dempster Lines and it wouldn't actually be taking the ACE any further because of weight restrictions. One portion of the ACE would go all the way to Ilfracombe in North Devon, via Barnstaple and through Braunton where I used to live in the station house :D

Here is the main subject - power and beauty...

Crossing the Western lines from Paddington and that head all the way West through Plymouth to Penzance and a host of other minor destinations.

Exeter St Davids and on to the wider Atlantic Coast (in my virtual world :D )
