I switched out monitor. Everything works the same(why not?) Except OR starts with the route selection page, the loading indicator bar moves about 1/3 across then the route section page returns. WTH?

Have you checked the OpenRailsLog file on your desktop?
All of the answers are there.

On the OR opening screen down near the bottom you'll see a box marked 'LOGGING' . . . place a check in the box and a OpenRailsLog.txt file will be created every time you run Open Rails.
The log will be overwritten every time you run Open Rails.
DO NOT use the 'Data Logger in the OPTIONS screens.
Attach the OpenRailsLog.txt file to your post and then we can help you.

Thank you to all who responded. But OR, all routes, started working out of the blue. Only actions taken, were the logging suggestions by Vince

After builds: Open Rails U2021.04.23-0251 2021-04-23 03-58-22 not working with Electric Loco-s, if eng file contains row: ORTSCircuitBreaker ( Manual )

Samples:
