OR (version U2021.04.25-0921) crashes when starting activity "Salvage of the Royal Scot" (I don't know the exact english name - in german: "Bergung des Royal Scot") in the original MSTS route Settle & Carlisle.

Same error message on many other of my routes.

Addendum: The error seems to occur foremost with steam locomotives. With the original MSTS steam locomotives, only the Gölsdorf 380 seems to be affected. The error does not occur with the Flying Scotsman.

The latest Unstable release should have this solved (not by me).

Thanks for letting know quickly!

Unfortunately, an error still occurs (see below).

Bug with the Gölsdorf 380, no bug with the Flyings Scotsman. Tested again on various routes and the MSTS originals. I can always reproduce the bug with the Gölsdorf 380.

Started unstable version 0.0.7786.5792 (2021-04-26 03:13:04Z) with VS 2017, the bug happens in MSTSLocomotive.cs in line 2244.

Used line in RunActivity->Program.cs was this:
args = new[] { "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Train Simulator\\ROUTES\\EUROPE2\\ACTIVITIES\\barcarso.act" };

Hi Jonas,

You do realise that program files folders are protected and interfere with the operation of MSTS/open rails?

>args = new[] { "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Train Simulator\\ROUTES\\EUROPE2\\ACTIVITIES\\barcarso.act" };

Hi Derek,

I also get the bug with routes that are not in the Program Files folder. I've tried it mainly with the compiled version (U2021.04.25-2136). Thanks for reminding me to mention that afterwards.

Running the source code directly with VS 2017 I did only to find out the line that causes the crash.

Just in Explore Mode for example - What happens if you use the Gölsdorf 380 with the current unstable OR version?

Greetings
Jonas

As of the most recent update, I also get an error nessage when I attempt to play the game--after the loading screen, the window flashes and I get this message:

This essentially renders the game unplayable.

The error only occurs when trying to run a steam locomotive that has air brakes and thus uses a compressor. Unfortunately the work on power package for diesel and electric has caused this bug with air braked steam.

Thanks, for the insight. Hope it's not too complex solving it, good luck.

The bug seems to be gone for me since version U2021.05.02-2306. Thanks for fixing it!

Yes, I wrote a modification to the power supply package to provide the needed information for steam locomotives.
