Hi!
I found an error in the OR manual.
I kept wondering why the diesel cab was showing me the wrong engine temperature. It was too low.
The temperatures written in the eng file were correct. Same in gauge setting in .cvf (range and scale). Nevertheless, the HUD and the gauge showed little.
So I calculated how much I have to increase the temperatures to get to the right size.
And suddenly I find that these are temperatures in Fahrenheit. But the OR manual says something else. Lists these temperatures in degrees Celsius!
See. Chapter 8, page 93:

original view with error:

MinOilPressure ( 150kPa )
MaxOilPressure ( 550kPa )
MaxTemperature ( 85 )
Cooling ( 3 )
TempTimeConstant ( 480 )
OptTemperature ( 70 )
IdleTemperature ( 60 )
)
)

After repair:

MinOilPressure ( 150kPa )
MaxOilPressure ( 550kPa )
MaxTemperature ( 185 )
Cooling ( 3 )
TempTimeConstant ( 480 )
OptTemperature ( 167 )
IdleTemperature ( 140 )
)

Addition: Adjusting the values of parameters such as MaxTemperature (85 degC) did not help ... The values must actually be in degrees Fahrenheit.

Thanks for reporting this, Lamplighter.

Perhaps it would be better to specify the units in the file (and the manual) instead of leaving them as default.

 MinOilPressure ( 150kPa )
MaxOilPressure ( 550kPa )
MaxTemperature ( 185degF )
Cooling ( 3 )
TempTimeConstant ( 480 )
OptTemperature ( 167degF )
IdleTemperature ( 140degF )

But I don't find, in the code, any unit for rate of temperature change, e.g. degF/min so that's a bug to be fixed.

It is also a pity that the temperature is not tied to engine power, but only to time.
It does not react with rpm speed, load and therefore cooling efficiency. Maybe sometime in the future. Therefore, it only acts as a decoration in the cabin.
