It's been a while since I have enjoyed painting in MSTS but my brother asked if I'd paint up some circus and shows trains so...

Pulled out the paint pots, a few beers and got back to some projects from the workbench that had been neglected for too long.

Still more work to finished these but thought I'd share this weekend's progress.

Since we already have a fine set of RBBX equipment from TigerTrains/TML, I thought I'd paint up some of the missing cars that once travelled the country advertising and providing luxury accommodations for the circus owners.

So first up:

RBBX Saratgoa and RBBX Jomar - the personal cars of the Ringling Brothers.

Then a few less well known cars:

Royal American Shows
James E. Strates Shows.

Nice. Was watching a video recently of the CNW 1385 pulling the Circus World parade train to Milwaukee. Those would fit right in.

I like what Tiger/TMT did with their RBBX set but some depression bd pre-war era stock like you've done would also be nice to have.

Circus flats back then were pretty unique looking beasts.. Basically an I-beam sided flat car... maybe similar to a DOD tank transporter flat?

A circus train pulling into Maybrook from the Erie at Campbell Hall, on the CNE (NYNH&H) connector.

from the Erie portion of the Donald W. Furler collection at the Center for Railroad Photography and Art.

Not very good for details, but it does show the unique sideframes the circus and carnival flatcars had.
