Not sure what this is exactly but it reminds of the Virginian EL2B with a shark body. A lot more wheel sets, but same general idea.

Let's think, that would probably have been a TT1 in Pennsy speak. I would imagine that if one had finished up on the ground the folks with the job of getting it back on would not be 'appy - that's a lot of wheels to line up.
It almost looks like the product of one of those alcohol inspired "hang on, I've just had a great idea" moments. It would have made a UP 6900 look puny, probably just as well it didn't see the light of day.

Yes, it does look exactly like a Pennsy paint scheme. Unlike the PRR, all AE diesels display the AE circle and 5 stripes. Drives the paint department nuts :-)

Another great example of "what might have been".
#1 I'd love to see a photo of that monster 'rounding Horseshoe Curve.
#2 I'd bet the TT1 would've never met a switch it couldn't split!
A concept that probably had NO practical use.

With all those axles it really would have represented a Mega-Lod-On the rails. ( Ouch! sorry - that pun slipped out - could not control myself )

The 'TT1' comes from the fact that the Pennsy 'T' class was a 4-4-4-4 and this locomotive is two of that wheel arrangement put together (4-4-4-4+4-4-4-4). In the same way, the 'G' class 4-6-0 lead to the 'GG1' for a 4-6-0+0-6-4.
I like the fact that the Allegheny Eastern has retained the original 5 stripe scheme applied to the Baldwin Cab Units (both Passenger and Freight), with no nose stripes.
