Hello. Please excuse me for my poor English. I'm from Russia myself. Encountered a problem when exporting a model from blendera with your plugin. The problem is that the animation in the game breaks. More precisely, the plugin exports only frames of the animation moving, and rotation does not export. Can you tell me where I made a mistake? Thank you in advance.

Hello Андрей TH33,

Just some random thoughts ...

You must insert both Rotation and Location keys in your timeline.

Those are the only types of keys that will export - don't use any others.

Does it animate OK in Blender?

Does it animate in Paul Gausden's shape view program?

When you say it doesn't work in the game, do you mean Open Rails, or MSTS?

Examine your .s file to see if the part has both tcb_rot (rotation) and linear_pos (location) controllers like this:

anim_node Spinner (
	controllers ( 2
	 tcb_rot ( 4
			slerp_rot ( 1 0.0 0.0 0.0 1.0 )
			slerp_rot ( 2 0.0 -0.53772593 -0.0 0.84311968 )
			slerp_rot ( 3 0.0 -0.89807248 -0.0 0.43984756 )
			slerp_rot ( 4 0.0 -0.92473084 -0.0 -0.3806217 )
	 )
	 linear_pos ( 2
			linear_key ( 1 0.0 -0.0359925 0.0 )
			linear_key ( 3 0.0 1.04910731 0.0 )
	 )
	)
)

If you are still stuck, PM me your .blend file and I'll check it out.

Hello. Thanks for the help I figured out what the problem was. But now I am faced with such a problem. The fact is that I model in 3DS MAX 2020 and import the object into BLENDER. So in Blendere, I change the bindings of objects to each other. For example, the handle to the door each of them has its own animation. But when exporting, this very handle flies into the sky and turns completely on a different axis. Maybe someone knows what the problem is? Thank you in advance.

When you solve a problem to a question you have asked, could you please post advising what or how the problem was resolved. This helps the next person who experiences similar issues and reads your post.

As for the the animation issue, I have had this happen on my models after scaling/translating objects.

With the part selected in 'Object' mode, use 'CTRL + A' and select 'All transforms'.

This sometimes causes the part to be moved to a different part of the scene. Use the '.' key on the numeric keypad to zoom to it's location to find it if it's small.

You will probably have to reset the origin for the part (Object>Set Origin).

Then clear any animation key frames if present and redo the animation and test.

You may have to do this for all parts in the hierarchy chain.

Let us know if this fixes the problem.

Cheers,

Marek.

Hello. Sorry that I haven't written for a long time. I solved this problem. The fact is that if two objects have animation and they are tied to each other, then the animation breaks when exporting. This is all treated by adding pacifiers and binding these pacifiers to each object and already the pacifiers must be renamed correctly and they have to do animation. You may think that this is what you should have done from the very beginning, but the whole problem is that I use this converter not for Open rails but for Rails train Simulator (RTS).
