Thanks to an investigation work done by mbm_OR, I can provide here a first tentative fix patch for the bug.
Scott, you might apply it to rev. 87 or 87.1, and check whether the crashes disappear.

Hi Folks,

Well thank you kindly - gentlemen - I’ll test it out and report back tomorrow when I get some time...

Hi Folks,

Sorry - no joy...

Updated to ORTS 87.1 w/ ReShade_Setup_4.8.2

Copied the attached files into the ORTS directory overwriting originals.

Less than 10 minutes - crashed again.

Chrome iPad client viewing Track Monitor and Train Driving Info.

Logs:
Attached File  OpenRailsLog.txt (18.54K)
Number of downloads: 203

I'll continue testing and post any new found results.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Carlos,

Sorry - no joy.

This version seems to create intermittent lag to the web client updates occasionally - sometimes 10 or 15 seconds - then it would run smooth again. I ran this test on two completely different "mini installs" to insure it's not a content issue. If I jump around more with the cameras in ORTS it seems to create the system crash sooner than if I just pick one view and let it run.

While I greatly appreciate the effort - if you guys can't recreate the issue and I am the only one seeing a problem - perhaps we should just let this slide - as you guys could probably find a better use of your very valuable time ?

The first log file ran for around 10 minutes - the second one only 2 or so...

Scott

As shadows are the toughest thing for a game engine to process here's a few things that helped me. Try turning ShadowAllShapes to OFF, ViewDistance is 5Km try set to 2Km, Turn Dynamic Shadows off. and make a test run.
If OK, the add the items back once at a time making a full test run of the failing activity each time.

vince

Hi Vince,

I can certainly give it a try - ORTS does run fine with web server running and no web clients connected...

Thanks for the suggestion...

Regards,
Scott

Scott, I've just completed some fixes for the web server code as of last night. Please give the latest unstable a try and see if your crashes persist.

(I personally do not believe your crashes have anything to do with shadows, but I suppose it can't hurt to try tweaking those, too.)

Hi Ryan,

Thanks so much !
:)

Just to be clear - latest unstable is the official version - selecting unstable in the update menu - right ? That's what I'll do.

I usually run Carlos's version for the record that I manually install.

Regards,
Scott
