G'day all.
First off, I wish to send out a HUGE thank you to Scottb613 for his advice related to just how easy and wonderful the TSRE tool is for editing routes.
I have long wanted to added 'mosaic-type' terrain beneath tracks in a number of older routes to give them a richer more 'up to date' feel.
I have started working on two routes. The MLT Sandpatch and the All Aboard Cumberland route.
I still need to learn how to swap out vegetation and to add some additional details but my first foray last evening on both routes showed just how right Scott was -- it goes quickly and easilly!
I know my work isn't up to the standards of the true artists on this site but so far I'm very pleased with the changes I've done.
I thought I'd share just a few 'quickie' update shots. First up Sandpatch:

Pretty spiffy I'd say.
TSRE is a lot of fun, once you get over the initial trepidation.
I was leery until I figgered out, so what if I break it, I can always reinstall.

Thank you, Steve.
Any insights on how to edit trees etc? Is there a "replace with" feature?
I's also like to leant how to edit grass along the tarcks.

Replacing a static object is very easy. Over on the left (top quarter) is the name of the selected object. Below that is a button labeled edit. Click on that and enter a new name.

When you say "edit trees" do you mean replace with something different or edit the shape/texture?
The first one involves clicking on the offending object, deleting it, and replacing it with something from the objects window over on the right.
Obviously you don't want to do this with the track, or maybe you do. You can. TSRE is very forgiving.
Editing the shapes or textures in a little more labor intensive but it's not hard and I think it's kinda fun.
Welcome aboard the TSRE train.
