I've completed back dating the DAR between Hantsport and Grand Pre on the Halifax Sub, about sixteen miles.

Dominion Atlantic train 97 departs Hantsport southbound for Kentville.

2627 passes the Horton Bluff Lighthouse along the Avon River.

Avonport Station was closed in 1955 and moved off the property, becoming a storage building for a local cpmpany.

Crossing the Gaspereau River.

Horton Landing flag stop, but they did have a passing siding back then.

Arriving in Grand Pre. Big change between the 1950s and the mid 1970s when they had no station and only two fruit warehouses.

Train 97 stops to take on water.

This is the second Grand Pre station, the first was replaced with this unique log cabin design.

Grand Pre National Historic Site, opened in 1955, built mostly by the Dominion Atlantic Railway.

In the mid 1950s Grand Pre bosted four fruit warehouses, a livestock pen, team track and a station.

I like it.
What does "team track" mean?

A "Team Track" was a track for general delivery for customers that weren't next to the railway or just didn't have a siding. Most places had one but not all.

I'm having fun doing this Paul. Lots of looking at old pictures on the DAR wiki to find out what was there and what was not. Also having a bit of fun learning how to make "pick up" objects and getting them animated!

Paul :-)
