I have just completed the switching at Garrison, connected to my train and I am on the move again.
All cars are there.
Warning: Train 0 service PLAYER off path; distance to reversal point set to -1

Sounds strange to me...
I only managed it once to accomplish all switching at Garrison and complete the remaining trip. All other of the ~10 times I tried it failed at reconnecting to the main train section. I just couple back to it and...the train is just gone. Indeed a rare sight but there is no reversing point or waiting point whatsoever on the player path what may could cause this, but even then such behavior should not occur...

it's impossible to me to select a route, because it's impossible to find a link between a route, an activity and such bunch of messages. If, by using OR, you'll get the same message on a free route, pls. report that here.
