It's April 9, 1937, K-36 #485 departs Chama at 2:10 AM with 37 loads, 10 empties. The crew (Conductor S Edmisten, &Engineer Klahn) were called to duty at 10:45 PM the previous day, but they had to wait for Alamosa Extra 486 to arrive.







Just beyond MP 356, a car derails, & the crew gets to work rerailing the car.

The train rolls through Monero.



At Mile Post 366.5,there was another derailment. Although the detail not shown, there was at least 6 cars that had derailed. The crew ties up at 2:40 PM, & the Durango wrecker departed Durango at 10:15 AM & arrived at the derailment at 3:20 PM.

Soon, the cars are rerailed, the track repaired, & meeting the San Juans, the crew went back on duty at 10:40 PM, & the train departs 10 minutes later. The wrecking train went to Chama.



Soon, the train pulls into Lumberton for stwiching.





After a littlw while, the train pulls into Dulce.

The train rolls through Navajo.

As the train heads west...



.. it pulls into Gato.



After 55 minutes of the crew eating, coal, water, & switching, the train gets underway again.

As the train follows the river...







... it rolls through Arboles.

As the grade eases out...







... it rolls through Tiffany.

The train rolls through La Boca as it heads west.

Soon, the train pulls into Ignacio to do some switching.



After that,the train gets underway again.

At Florida, the train sets out a couple cars.



Soon, the train climbs the final hill.



After cresting the hill, the train rolls downhill.
