Having lamps (that are not headlights) that illuminate things is nice.
I'm led to understand the use of professional game engines (which TS2020 uses) for things like our routes is particularly hard to do because of the geographic size. And that these routes are, effectively, not editable by end users. Is that true?

DTG has two product lines - TS20xx and TSW20xx ( Train Simulator and Train Sim World ). This thread, and Rod's screenshots of night lighting, are from TS20xx which does have a full route editor.
Train Simulator uses a proprietary graphics engine they call TSX. Its has decent capabilities - such as these light effects - and others. The route editor is pretty complete with a bunch of features that make route building and model building fun.
I think you are thinking of Train Sim World which uses the Unreal Engine. So far TSW has been a closed simulator, not editable by end users.

Thanks Wayne. You are right, I confused the two products (I thought they only had one).
