I have two questions.
Can can the AE in MSTS be used to create acts in OR?
If yes, can the MSTS AE only be loaded from the two MSTS disks or do you have to load everything?

1. Yes, Open rails can run anything created for MSTS.
2. You have to load everything.

If you're planning to load MSTS on Windows 10 and get any of it to work, I don't think it's going to happen. I'm still using MSTS AE and Route Editor on a Windows 7 machine and if I have to upload anything I have to put it on an external hard drive and transfer it to this Windows 10 laptop.

MSTS works totally with Windows 10 if installed correctly.

I have installed MSTS (and OR) on a separate Drive D: out of Windows C:
Is that all?

The instructions are valid for all versions of Windows; WinXP up to and including Windows 10.

AE may probably have problems with any .wag or .eng files that has OR extensions and/or OR parameters.

I'm not able to run msts AE either, I used the third party application "Track Viewer" which is part of the OR distribution and then use TSRE5 as the activity editor. TSRE may be over whelming when you first look at it, it is fairly easy to work with once you learn a a few things.
