I've gone ahead and updated the timetable mode chapter with all of the missing commands and features (including .timetablelist-or and .pool-or files). You can read a copy on my website.

I've seen several times that there is no mention in the manual of the enhanced operation of labels for platforms and sidings which filter out ones that are not relevant to an activity.

If one of you can post here the text that's missing, I'll get that added too.

I'm still hoping for some text about this.

Any offers?

I've just discovered that I can't find anything in the Manual about the Weather File that roeter provided last year for timetable mode.

There's lots of data about it in this thread so if you would like to add that in the manual, then please go ahead and post here so we know.

Thanks,

Oops! I completely forgot about weather files when I was making my update.

Timetable set files are already in the manual.

Never mind. But if you can add them in, that would be great.

mbm_OR (Mauricio) has provided some detail for this (thanks) and a PR has now been submitted.

Are there any more topics which are missing or inadequate?

11.2.3 Timetable groups
Multiple timetables can be loaded simultaneously using timetable group files. A group file is a plain text
file, also located in the OpenRails subdirectory of the route’s Activities directory, that contains the
filenames of one or more timetable files listed on each line.

Should that file have regular *.txt extension, or, as Robert said, strictly ".timetablelist-or"?

I think, it's nessesary to add:

Roeter said:

In each timetable, you can include references to any train in another timetable (e.g. in wait commands), by adding the timetable identification to the train name. The timetable identification is the contents of the field in the first #comment column and the first #comment row. A train reference looks like this (shown here is a wait command) : $wait=trainname:timetableident.
Note that such references can be used in any command, so also in $forms, $attach, $detach etc.

The extension does indeed need to be .timetablelist-or, even though it's an ordinary plain text file.

Technically the "trains from other timetables" feature is already mentioned:

Quote

Although #comment rows and columns are generally ignored, the contents of the cell at the intersection of the first #comment row and first #comment column is used as the timetable description. This appears as the timetable’s name in the Open Rails menu and is used to reference trains from other timetables.

...But you're right; we could do a better job describing both features.

Sorry, later I've found this:

Quote

Train Reference
...
If the target train is in a separate timetable of the same timetable group, the reference is in the form
of train name:timetable description, where the description is the text at the intersection of the first
#comment row and #comment column in the other timetable file.

Please, excuse me, in case if You actually knew that already, but here is an original information:
Preliminary document for timetable mode changes by Roeter. Is looks more consistent for me :blush2:
