lol

with $forms=2814:tranvias_azambuja-lisboa the log registers the warning "not found"

with $forms=tranvias_azambuja-lisboa:2814 a warning is registered saying

Information: Train 2814:tranvias_azambuja-lisboa : detach to train : no units remaining on train

...what happens is that the 2807 train reaches the station platform and disapears and at the 2814's start time the consist appears in due platform...

You are talking about the same platform, of course? ;)

ah... no... different platform/tracks.... the consists shunts from one to the other via the runround path, no?

What im trying to do is: northbound train 2807 (an EMU) arrives at station on platform 1, then shunts to platform3 and departs platform 3 southbound as train 2814

In that case, you need 1 (or 2) ECS runs (ECS stands for Empty Coaching Stock, so that's a train without passengers).
So, for instance using 2 empty trains, 2807 forms into 2807E (empty), and runs from platform 1 to the shunt siding. There, it forms 2814E.
This 2814E then runs from the shunt siding to platform 3, where it will form 2814.
Train 2807E would be in the same timetable as 2807, and 2814E would be in the same timetable as 2814 - that keeps things clear.

The run-round command was intended for loco-hauled trains where the engine needs to run round the coaches.

oh, I see Rob!

Is it at all advisable to make it with just one ECS?
And actually I am thinking on creating a timetable just for the ECS's and name 2807_to_2814, for example. What do you think?
I really want to keep the current
timetable_or files has they are cause they have 40 trains in each and this is just about half the suburban trains in the area... and i still have to make the long haul timetables...
since I'll have to make my own graphics and platform occupation schematics... i think that way will be more clean for me!

In my opinion, it’s easier to extend the path of 2807 outside the platform to common section were it will possible to create path to outbound platform for 2814 and to terminate 2807 there with $forms=2814 in #dispose field. This way you will use only 2 columns for all action.

Oleg

Hi Oleg.
I also thought of that but what impact may it have on the 2807 train in player mode?
The service would not end for the player once the service arrives and drops the passengers or would it? I would have to place a departure time for the last platform, right?

Rob

I got everything to work with the following syntax

$forms=train_name:file_description

$forms=2814:tranvias-azambuja-lisboa (saw another post of yours and stoped using underscore before it's too late :) )

Soon i can make some remarkable footage of this in work and post here in the forum :)

If a train has a $forms (or $trigger) command in the #dispose field, then it will always continue as such when run as player train.

No, you don't need a departure time. If no departure time is set, the train will depart (as AI) or will be ready to depart (as player) at the defined #start time.

In reverse, when running a train into a platform to form a passenger working, you also do not need an arrival time, but setting an arrival time will help to stop the train in the proper platform position. It is also possible to force the train to stop at the proper platform position by setting the /setstop option for the $forms command.
