Crew: Conductor Purciel, Engine 456 Stamm, & Engine 463 Braswell







Soon, the train pulls into Cedar Creek at 3:15 AM to add helpers (C-19 #345 with engineer Doyle & C-21 #361 with engineer Tyrer).

After the helpers are added, the train climbs the hill.



Soon, the train reaches Cerro Summit at 5 AM.



At Cerro Summit, the 456 & 463 return to Montrose. The 345 heads to Cimarron light engine, & the 361 departs Cerro Summit at 5:15 AM.



The train soon pulls into Cimarron at 5:45 AM.

After the engines are coaled & watered & the crew having something to eat, the train departs Cimarron at 7:05 AM.



Soon, the train begins rolling through the Black Canyon.

As the train heads east...



... it stops at Sapinero to load 9 cars cattle, & take those 9 cars east.





At MP 308, the valve yoke on the 345 right side broke, so it was necessary disconnect the 345 at MP 308 and take down side rods, but the 345 stays on the train.

After 1 hour 35 minutes, the train gets underway.

The train nears Gunnison.





Soon, the train pulls into Gunnison at 1 PM with 35 loads 1 empty.
