Do the AI trains in Open Rails use the same physics as the player train.?
From some simple experiments Ive done they dont seem to , as AI trains can generally haul much greater loads at higher speeds up steeper grades than can the player train, with the same load and locos.
Also does the player train when in Autopilot mode use the same physics as the AI trains do, as there seems to be a significant differance in train behaviour when its in Autopilot mode and when player driven.
Cant find much info about this in the manual.
tnx

I can confirm AI do indeed not play the same role as the player. You can give a single GP38 or even a SW1500 hehe a 15,000 ton coal train an it will still pull up Cajon, Tehachapi, Beaumont you name the big long grade hill an it will pull. Even in Autopilot it will pull it when the player can't an get to track speed.

Yes thanks for this .
The AI trains do seem to have some kind of physics to control their acceleration and braking which seems fairly close to the player train, just the engine HP and tractive effort seems to be ignored .
