Well, I decided to do a vintage diesel screenshot thread to be more encompassing, and prevent some overflow from more modern diesels.
This thread is dedicated to the diesels that changed railroading, those sleek, streamlined carbody diesel locomotives many are fond of. EMD E-units and F-units, ALCo DL-109s, PAs and FAs, FMs C-Liner and Erie Builts, Baldwin RF-16s...you get the idea.
We begin with a rerun, and a new shot.
A SOO Line F7 runs along with a loaded hopper consist in the 1970s.
A ATSF E8m awaits departure with a very short passenger train.

Hello,
thank you for starting a thread with my favorite kind of diesel engines (second only to steam engines). Since my childhood they were the typical American engines for me. I knew them from model railroad catalogues. Between my screenshots there are nearly 20 years. The first one is from October 2001. I got the sim for my birthday in August, and started to collect material right away. There's a Great Northern engine on the default Maria's Pass (with the original track).
The next shot is from 2005. You see I'vbe learned to change track textures. I don't know if you'd consider the Krauss-Maffei engine for Rio Grande as a real carbody diesel because its shape is approaching modern diesels.
The last shot was taken some days ago with open rails. It's the Royal Canadian on Kicking Horse Pass (equipped with Norbert Riegers US tracks).
I'll go through my screenshots and look if I can find more carbody diesels.
Keep on steamin'!
