It's worth noting that while the cabs and controls stretch with this option, dials and gauges currently do not. This doesn't look very good at maximum stretch. So if we're going to retain this feature, we should also look into a fix.

If there are cabs that rely on stretching to have a correct appearance, I think that we are constrained to leave the stretching option.
However having cabs requiring stretching leads to a problem: if you use in the same activity such cabs and standard cabs, you'll have a problem either in the look of the "special" cab or in the look of the standard cab, when you switch cabs. So I think that creating cabs that rely on partial stretching should be avoided.

It's my understanding that no cab requires stretching; it's just an (understandable) player preference.

Here I basically play at 1920 x 1080 with Diesels West based cabs, which has 1024x768 textures. i'm attaching some print with 0%, 40% and 100% strech. While with 0% it's impossible to play because i don't have a "real" vision of the tracks, the 100% option give me an unreal look of the cab, too much strech. I found the 40% the best of both worlds. I don't think a good idea delete the streching box, since many players use this kind of cab and who knows how much cabs there are in our universe. Flexibilize options, even because he already have the strech option in use, it's a good idea, in my opinion.

Would you prefer stretching to pillarboxing? This is how your cab would look with the new option enabled.

Honestly, i prefer the 40% strech, because there's "no much difference" between the 0% and 40% (obviously, it's a personal taste) and i can play with "full screen". I tested the Letterboxing with several cabs at the MG59 version and i did't like the black bar on the sides. I would keep the letterboxing and the stretch option, since the user could choose the best one for his cabs and personal taste.

Sounds cool, wanted to head straight for the sim to check it out - but I cannot seem to find the checkbox to activate this feature in the options? http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/curiousPC.gif
http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/sign_sorry.gif for acting like a dumbass - should rather go to bed instead of messing with my PC, I guess http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/goodnight.gif

Cheers, Markus

There's no checkbox. You press Ctrl+1 once in-game.

I really should go to bed... now that you pointed it out to me, I recall reading it in the above, of course...

Good night,
Markus
