It's December 4, 1936, K-28 #474 departs Gunnison at 11:30 AM with 1 gas, 41 empty gondolas, & a caboose.

Crew: Conductor Anderson. & Engineer Edwards

After a while, the train rolls through Jack's Cabin.

The train continues climbing the hill.

The train pulls into Crested Butte at 1:15 PM. At 4:40 PM, the 474 & a coal car derails due to a lipped switch (the switch for the main & middle track), & tool cars were needed. The crew were released from 5:15 PM to 2:00 AM The 460 reached the derailment at 7:45 PM.

It's now December 5, the 474 was re-railed at 12:50 AM, & the car at 2 AM & the track is OK at 2:55 AM. The crew (Conductor Anderson & Engineer Edwards)) went on duty at 2 AM & the southbound coal train departs Crested Butte at 3:30 AM with 60 loads & a caboose. The 460 with tool cars had already left Crested Butte at 2:55 AM & returned to Gunnison at 4:25 AM.
