Not very nice of you.

The TYPEs are ORTS_OIL_PRESSURE,
ORTS_DIESEL_TEMPERATURE,
For the units you can select any pressure unit accepted by OR; temperature must be in degrees.

Thats for that info on the cvf files.
Now that we are confined indoors (Over 70 years of age for all New Zealanders) we have more time to play with OPENRAILS, great

Hello again!

I am trying to implement these controls in my new 3D cockpit but I am not succeeding. They don't work as DIAL or GAUGE. When you say "temperature must be in degrees" what exactly do you mean?

Units (DEGREES)
...for example?

And the thing is that, no matter how hard I look everywhere, I can't find a list with ALL the possible Units in OR or in MSTS and what they are used for. I don't know if that's why it doesn't work, but even if I write DEGREES, the needles don't move...

Also the fact that the forum search engine doesn't support short words doesn't help at all.

Thank you!

I use the foloowing in the CVF file. Im not into 3D cabs yet but this works for me in 2D Cabview

Open Rails log returned me this...

Information: Skipped unknown ControlStyle DEGREES in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\FV2401\CABVIEW\FV2401.cvf:line 195

Please, if I may?
The location you have the MSTS files installed. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\. will cause you endless problems. It's a Windows protected folder.

https://open-rails.r...#cooling-system

The manual states that the cooling system is 'simplified' and will be improved on in future. Water temp has a max value of 100C which implies this is fixed.

Remove the UNITS ( x ) line from the ORTS_DIESEL_TEMPERATURE gauge and the error will cease in the log file. The temp will display a simplified temp in Celsius (?) by default.

Oddly enough, during my testing I found the ORTS_OIL_PRESSURE only appears to show a 'simplified” pressure in PSI units. Changing the value to KILOPASCALS did not change the value of the display. I tried a number of the 'specified' values units of measure (https://open-rails.r...nits-of-measure) but again this did not change the values in the display.

As stated in the docs, this is a work in progress and simplified, you need to bear that in mind.

Cheers,

Marek.

Hi Marek! Well, after deleting the Units line, I no longer get the above message, but it still doesn't work. That is to say, the indicators (needles), remain all the time without any kind of movement, and presumably they should move depending on whether the engines are off, idling or at full power, but they do not. Is there an example where they do work, to check my syntax?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Vince! Normally everything works very well, maybe it's because I work on Win7...

Cheers!
