I can select, place and delete objects without problem. However, I cannot delete track. I can select a section of track, I can remove the tdb entry by pressing Z, but then reselecting and pressing DELETE does not remove the track section. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Doc,
There is no need to press 'Z' to remove from TDB before deletion of a track section, just select the track section and then press delete.
Both the track and the yellow database lines should be deleted. Save after deleting.
If there is still a problem please post the settings.txt file from the TSRE folder.

Hi Vince,
Your mention of the settings file alerted me to the problem. The line "leave Trackshape after delete" was marked as "True". Changing it to "False" of course solved the problem. Thanks for your reply.

Interesting. That means you can "deactivate" roads and tracks as needed. Both .tdb and .rdb would be smaller and in the case of yard tracks you could use the deactivated tracks for static strings of relatively simple cars.

Hi Doc,
Glad I could help.
>>Dave: Yes!
I used this method quite a bit in the PRR rebuild for roads.
You can do this for track but there is really no need to.
Witness the fully populated yards as you run the PRR-East activities. There is no frame rate or crashing as was the MSTS standard.
The original PRR builders left a ton of static track, mainly in the Jersey City area and more at the western end of the route.
I activated almost all I found plus adding a turntable or two.
regards,
vince
