I wonder why there were no new Open Rails releases since 18 December 2018. Is the team experiencing some technical issues?
Thanks and sorry for my English.

Also there is the Monogame version, RailDriver version, and an Ultimate version --- all of which will be merged with the stable version sometime in the future.

Your guess is as good as mine...all I know is that it is planned to merge sometime in the future when the complexities of moving to monogame are worked out.

I notice that some complex features like "Publishing and Downloading Content", "New 3D model format", and other features don't change for a long time.
For me, i just want that the new version work well with .dds textures formats. Because .ace formats are very heavy.
Since my models have night and day textures the final product become very heavy. This problem could be solve if OR suppor dynamic light textures inside of the cabs.

James Ross is currently working on a merge of the current version with the MonoGame version. The intention is that the next version of Open Rails (1.4) will use MonoGame instead of XNA.
It will also include improvements that are included in the Testing Version and any from the Unstable Version that make it through the review process.
It's a large task and he is giving it top priority.

They need more people. Anyone who knows some coding and is willing to try C# (or WOW! knows C# already) could really help move things along.

Chris, this confuses me. The upgrade page for the "Unstable" version has an entry stating that "Pull request #40 at 12adbf6f5: Monogame upgrade" is included, but you say that inclusion of the Monagame version is being worked on. Can you please clarify.

For those of you who don't get involved in GitHub.com, progress continues to be made and James made more updates today.
The action (to merge MonoGame graphics into the Testing version) is known as a Pull Request and you can find it here: "Work in progress Monogame migration".
There is a considerable checklist to work through - repeated below:
It's really good to know that everyone's efforts and feedback, from Peter Gulyas' initial work onwards, are coming together and Open Rails will have a better graphics foundation for the future.
