Hi Peter,

Have a look at continuous TE, should be 105,000lbf, starting is ok.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it has reminded me that I needed to "clean" up some code around the Speed of Continuous Force value.

This has now been done in unstable version 2019_12_31.

When you rerun your engine you should get the follow (in part):
Information: Speed Of Max Continuous Force: set to default value 12.6 mph

Information: Diesel Force Settings (BASIC Config): Max Starting Force 142.1 klbf, Calculated Max Continuous Force 134.5 klbf @ speed of 12.6 mph

Firstly it was my intent with this code to provide feedback to the user as to how OR is "seeing" the locomotive to be configured. Whether they choose to take notice of it or not is up to them, hence why the error reporting information is user selectable.

So looking at the second line above what is it telling us?

OR in BASIC mode calculates the tractive force, and then uses the MaxPower value to cross check that the tractive force is not too high.

It does this by using the formula TF = MaxPower / Speed.

The second line above has calculated the TF at the reference speed entered in the ENG file, and using the MaxPower value also in the ENG file. So in our example the TF could equal 134,000 lbf when the locomotive is traveling at 12.6mph.

The specs in the ENG file suggest that the continuous tractive force should be 105,000 lbf at 12.6 mph, and hence the locomotive could be therefore slightly over powered.

So therefore the MaxPower value in the ENG file is possibly slightly too high.

There is probably not a huge amount in it, so whether a user wanted to correct this issue or not is up to them.
